Great Art Sources On the Interweb…
A friend asked me recently how I stay up to date with what is going on in the contemporary art world. Here are a few sites and newsletters that I read consistently:
Art News Blog - Great resource for general information on the art world. Probably the most well known blog out there and most widely read.
The Art Collectors Blog - Similar to Art News Blog, but a better mix of news and discovery [they generally showcase more emerging artists and stick to only the big news].
Artkrush - Newsletter delivered twice monthly. Chock full of great interviews and commentary on past/present/future events and issues going on in the art world. Paul Laster [Editor] is a serious voice in the industry and always has interesting things to say.
Artlog Connect - Newsletter delivered weekly. Focused more on curated [they know their stuff] event listings and profiling emerging artists, which I enjoy rather than having to sift through the mass of info. As an aside, they do some of the best ‘neighborhood crawls’ focused on art - basically touring 10-15 new galleries in a single night all curated and structured nicely by Artlog.
Art Law Blog - Legal commentary on the art world by John Silberman Associates [huge art lawyers repping major collectors, dealers, artists, etc].
Wooster Collective - Because I love art that interacts with urban environments.
