Design challenge.  Build a functional but interesting $2 LED light that can be built in local geographies around Africa. Appliances crafted with the same attitude of the music of forward thinking jazz band ” The Art Ensemble of Chicago,” this light made of natural materials breaks the borders of creation, presenting a hybrid of natural and electric elements namely wood and electricity.  Just like the latest mobile phones with new applications, this lamp is an example of technology at its finest. Sung Jang and others at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago designed these solar LED lights.  Pretty cool.
